AI Marketing Revolution: Solopreneurs' New Go-To Strategy #shorts

Pete Cooper picks up a guest's figure of an 83% downturn in the tech industry and argues the cause is not less code being written, but fewer developers writing more of it. He then names the data-heavy fields he expects the same pressure to reach next.

Video summary

Pete Cooper refers to what his guest described as an 83% downturn in the tech industry, and says he knows plenty of people affected by it. The figure is quoted from their conversation rather than sourced on screen, and is hedged when it is first raised.

His explanation is that the drop is not caused by less programming. Probably more code is being written than ever, he says, but fewer developers are needed to write it. He cites a young colleague who is very good with AI and reckons he does five times the work of a typical person, which has let their projects ship very quickly.

Looking ahead, he expects the software industry to keep absorbing this, and sees the same pressure reaching other areas where there is a lot of data: content generation, finance, and marketing. Marketing is the one he says he uses more than anything himself, because it is so good at pulling the main information together into something that makes sense.

I've got plenty of guys who have been affected by what you said was the 83% downturn in the tech industry. Not because we're not writing code, but because we are writing probably more code than ever now, but we don't need so many developers. I've got a young guy who's really good at an AI. He said to me he's doing five times the work that a normal person would do. And we've been able to get projects out really, really quickly. I think where's this going? We've already seen the software industry be hit, and I think it's going to continue. But then I think there's a few other areas, too, right? Where there's a lot of data. I'm thinking of content generation.

I think finance or I think those areas. I I probably use marketing more than anything because just seems to be so good at just pulling the main information in and giving me something that makes sense.
