AI Chatbots Transform Local Search #shorts

A speaker on the show compares finding a local business through search rankings with simply asking an AI chatbot. The example is a plumber needed this week for a leaking sink.

Video summary

The speaker looks back at how websites worked around the turn of the century. Search engines ranked them, and a good website put you at the top. That became harder and harder, the speaker says, once advertisers came in.

This is where the speaker sees LLMs as powerful, because they meet you where you want to be. You can have a conversation, even by voice. You need a plumber to fix a leaking sink this week, you are in Bethlehem, can it recommend somebody? It might ask a question or two, then recommend someone based on that chat. In the speaker's view, it cuts the work down.

This is my where my thinking goes. And tell me if you think I'm right. Back in the day, we built websites, right? Back in the turn of the century, websites were there, and the search engines would rank them. And if you had a good website, you'd be up the top. But of course, that became harder and harder to do because advertisers came in. And this is where I think the LLMs are so powerful. Uh it meets me where I want to be. Like, I can have a conversation with literally with my voice. I want a plumber that can do my sink this week cuz it's leaking. Can you recommend somebody? I'm in Bethlehem. Maybe ask me a question or two. And then it's going to recommend specifically off of my chat.

It really cuts the work down.
